About our Associate Artist Programme
Open Space Grania Pickard

The Point is an international hub for the development of artists.  We focus on emerging artists, helping them to reach the next step through structured support and mid-career artists, offering them the time and space to develop and flourish.

Our flagship Associate Artist programme develops individuals and companies both artistically and organisationally to ensure their sustainability and is underpinned by longitudinal study by University of Winchester into impact on artists careers. We support emerging artists to establish a foothold in the industry and mid-career artists to overcome a barrier to their progression.

Our Associate Artist scheme provides an intensive year long association. The scheme bridges the gap between training and industry offering artists:

  • The opportunity to work closely with The Point to make a step-change
  • Expertise on fundraising, company structure, touring, marketing, finance, audience, mobility, network development
  • A tailored audience development programme
  • Rehearsal and office space
  • Mentoring from high-profile artists

We have now announced our 2019-2020 cohort of Associate Artists

"Being an Associate Artist at The Point has opened up possibilities that I never imagined possible at the current stage of my career and has given me new skills to be able to forward think and take on more ambitious projects. The space, contacts, open door and the opportunity to receive unique and personalised support is a precious gift! Thank you."Katie Dale-Everett, Associate Artist 2018

“Becoming Associate Artists at The Point has propelled Milk Presents further than we could have imagined. The space, mentorship and endorsement the scheme has given us allowed us to make work, take risks and build our company both strategically and creatively.”Ruby Glaskin, Milk Presents
