Vicki HargreavesVicki Hargreaves - Community Dance Manager

As well as her role at The Point Vicki is also Artistic Director of Commotion Dance Company. Her passion for dance started at a very young age and has since grown into the creation of Commotion Dance and dedication to making dance accessible to all. In both of her roles Vicki has worked with a number of key dance professionals including choreographer Arthur Pita and early years dance specialist Adesola Akinleye. Vicki received a 1st for her dissertation in choreography and dance at the University of Winchester and has since gone on to have a flourishing career as a dance artist, manager and facilitator. She has extensive knowledge of teaching dance in both contemporary and creative, alongside developing dance and multi-art work for people with disabilities, dance within education and extensive project management in dance for all ages and abilities

Dan HillDaniel Hill - Youth Theatre Director

Daniel started his carrier as Education Trainee at the Chichester Festival Theatre, working on a number of projects with young people and community members and running workshops for school groups and the youth theatre. He then went on to work as part of the stage management team in various roles on productions working alongside internationally acclaimed directors. Daniel eventually turned his hand to directing, starting as an assistant director on a number of productions in the south coast and London as a director has produced a number of shows with various companies and groups including street art companies which have performed in festivals all over the country. In 2007. he co-founded Jackson and Hill Productions under which he directed two feature films It Always Comes as a Surprise and Our Time to Live and theatre productions of Two and The Caretaker as well as setting up and running community projects and schools workshops. In 2008 Daniel spend a year in Australia were he directed two community productions and worked as an advisor for local youth theatres.

Since working at The Point Daniel has Directed a number of shows including Romeo and Juliet, Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, SMASHED, One Small Step, On That September Day, A Christmas Carol, Declaration, When The Saintz Go Marching In, The Tempest, The Adventures of Pinocchio and Little Hope 09.

Jilly Hurden - Dance Administrator

Jilly has been involved in dance since the age of three, learning various styles but specialising in street and contemporary dance. In 2009 Jilly graduated from DeMontfort University with a 1st in dance. Whilst at university she was involved in a variety of activities including the running of a dance forum and a dance festival. Since graduating Jilly has worked for a variety of arts organisations including Cloud Dance Festival and Mandinga Arts. Jilly also has a wealth of experience in dance teaching as a result of working in schools and community groups for the last 9 years. At the end of her internship in summer 2012, Jilly will be going on to further training at The Royal Academy of Dance to do a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in dance teaching.

Rob Iliffe

Rob Iliffe - Drama Development Officer

Rob Studied Drama & English at Brunel University & Community Drama MA, Winchester University. He has 15 years of education and community arts experience including;

Arts Development Officer for Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, Youth Theatre Officer at Salisbury Playhouse, Programmes Co-ordinator for Hanger Farm Arts Centre.   Freelance arts work includes; drama tutor for adults and young people with learning difficulties, Forest Forge Theatre Company, Theatre of Making in Gosport, The Gantry Youth Theatre, co-ordinating storytelling events and DEFRA funded Story Sacks project with black and ethnic minority groups in Southampton.

Kim Johnson

Kim Johnson - Dance Programme Manager

Kim began her dance training at a young age, studying a wide range of dance styles before specialising in contemporary dance. She then went on to study at the University of Surrey, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Dance and Culture. Kim spent a year working at London Studio Centre developing her administrative and management skills, working closely with the core staff team on all aspects of running a vibrant vocational training centre.

Since starting work at The Point in 2003 Kim has held a variety of roles and been involved in all areas of dance development at The Point and around Eastleigh borough. She has extensive experience of working with the education and community sectors and now specialises in projects for gifted and talented young dancers and professional programming.

During her time at The Point Kim has produced a number of high profile projects including partnership initiatives with national dance organisations such as The Place and Youth Dance England and work with artists such as Hofesh Shechter, Shobana Jeyasingh and Charlotte Vincent. As Dance Programme Manager Kim works closely with director Sarah Brigham to programme the professional dance events at The Point. Kim also leads on the gifted and talented programme which includes Elevate Summer School, the Apprentice Choreographer Scheme and the Satellite Centre for Advanced Training. Kim also programmes The Point’s annual dance festival.

Marie Negus

Marie Negus - Music Development Officer

Marie organises and delivers music projects with the aim of developing audiences for and participation in the arts and manages them from beginning to end. Her aim is to inspire minds, nurture talent and equip participants with life skills and experiences. These projects include groups such as schools, pupil referral units, youth groups, community groups and “hard to reach” groups. Marie is extremely passionate about music and live performance, and has programmed some very high profile artists at The Point and as part of the Music Festival, along with giving young local bands the very best performance opportunities, and the opportunity to support those to whom they aspire.

Prior to this, Marie worked at Hampshire Music Service, so understands the importance of accelerating learning through positive music-making projects and delivering music projects that link directly into the National Curriculum.

Louise RickwoodLouise Rickwood - Youth Theatre Co-ordinator

Louise graduated in 2006 with a BA (hons) Theatre and Professional Practice degree and has since then pursued a successful career in the arts and theatre specifically working with communities and young people.  Louise has worked as an educator, director, actor-interpreter as well as taking on a number of backstage production and stage management roles whilst working with youth theatres. 

She has directed productions for The Point Youth Theatre including Little White Bird, A Christmas Truce, Woeful World Wiki, Dickensian Christmas. For The Willis Museum, Basingstoke she directed Much Ado About Nothing and Halloween. She has also worked on the stage management teams on many productions for both organisation. As an actor-interpreter, Louise has portrayed a number of different characters at Audley End House, Osbourne House and Dover Castle, RHS Wisley and Milestones Museum, Basingstoke, specialising in bringing Victorian and WWII history to life. 

In addition to running workshops and coordinating the youth theatre, Louise also runs the work experience programme at The Point working with students from year 10 to university graduates who wish to pursue a career in the arts.
