Dance festival
The Point's annual Dance
Festival takes place every June and features an exciting
mix of professional and community dance performances, events and
opportunities with around 5000 people taking part every year. The
festival provides something for everyone to enjoy, from performing
in our theatre to taking part in a workshop or simply sitting back
in the park and watching one of the outdoor performances. Two of
the festival regulars are Class Moves, our annual schools and
colleges showcase, and Hothouse, our annual youth and community
platform, both of which are hugely popular sell-out events.
The festival allows a large number of people
from a range of backgrounds to access dance in different forms, and
fulfils one of the key aims of Eastleigh Borough Council’s arts
strategy to ‘engage the community in high quality arts
experiences’.
