The Point’s Associate Artists recognised for exciting new work
Shark Legs Sharing 3v3

As The Point, Eastleigh opens up an opportunity for new Associate Artists; two of its current Associate Artists have recently received recognition for their exciting work. Sole Rebel Tap have been awarded £15,000 Grants for the Arts funding from Arts Council England and SharkLegs have been nominated for the coveted Les Enfants Terribles Award; designed to help an exciting new company produce an original piece of work to take to the Edinburgh Festival. The winners receive a £1,000 injection of funding alongside invaluable mentoring.

Following week-long creative residencies in the venue’s Studio Theatre and Creation Space both companies have recently shared work-in-progress with the public as part of The Point’s Open Space programme which connects audiences with artists. Sole Rebel Tap are working on two new shows, Spatterdash and Blushed, and SharkLegs are currently exploring science and the beating-heart through their first full-length production The Inevitable Heartbreak of Gavin Plimsole.
