Dance Workshops
Dance workshops

An Introduction to Dance: A fun and creative hour long workshop, using energetic and creative techniques to help children explore different styles of dance. These sessions can be tailored to curriculum themes, adding another dimension to the children’s learning process.

After school clubs: Our experienced teachers are able to lead after school dance clubs at your school, to help broaden the offer of extra-curricular activities. These sessions can follow a range of styles and are suitable for all age groups.

PPA Cover: We can provide any of these sessions as PPA cover to allow you time to plan and prepare other aspects of the school curriculum. All of our tutors are fully DBS checked, with their own comprehensive Public Liability Insurance.

Teacher CPD: Working with one of our experienced teachers over six weeks, you can gain the tools and confidence to successfully plan and lead dance sessions. The teacher development smoothly transitions you from working with an experienced teacher, to being able to continue and develop lessons in your school beyond the sessions.

Secondary Schools & Colleges

Workshop with a Professional Company: The Point regularly hosts professional companies each term, for both performances and the creation process. If you are interested in hosting a workshop at your school with a professional company, or attending any of our performances, please get in touch with the dance department.

We also hold FREE Open Space sharing’s for professional companies that have had a residency in our creation space. If you would like to bring students to one of these, please get in touch with the dance department.

Bespoke workshops: Our experienced practitioners are able to come to your school to deliver bespoke and one-off workshops, tailored to your needs. We can base this on any theme, style or area of GCSE syllabus that you wish.

Teachers CPD

Teacher’s Networking Group: If you are interested in meeting with the dance team, and other like-minded teachers in the area, please contact the dance department for more information about our latest networking event.
