Building
momentum
It may be chilly outdoors but there’s a warm welcome awaiting
you at The Point. The spring season begins and ends with
comedy and new offerings from the ever popular Plested & Brown and the always
controversial Mark
Thomas. Our dance programme continues to attract
strong audiences and we are delighted this season to present
4X4: coastal
route, a tasty mixed bill of south east choreographers
and guests, along with the first performances of the brilliant
international Destino project before it opens
formally at London’s Sadler’s Wells. There’s a real treat too for
theatre lovers as we bring innovative performance-makers Augusto
Corrieri, Michael Pinchbeck and Gary Stevens to The Point for the
first time for Something
different. And last but not least there’s the promise
of an inspiring and entertaining evening in the company of veteran
politician Baroness Shirley
Williams and veteran movie buff Barry Norman.
Our children & families programme goes
from strength to strength and shows sell quickly so don’t leave it
too late to book for The Ugly
Duckling, Room on a Broom, Rapunzel and The Tell
Woman.
In December building started on our phase3 development and you
can see project updates at any time on this site. In
February we will be announcing our opening date and naming the
international artist who will cut the ribbon for us. So keep an eye
on this space as there will be special opportunities around the
opening event for our patrons.
It’s going to be a great year for The Point –
we really look forward to seeing you.
