The Point Young People's Theatre
(YPT)
Enjoy being on
stage?
Want to take part in
performances?
Or interested in learning how it
all works backstage?
The Point Young People’s Theatre is open for
young people aged between 7 and 20, with an enthusiasm and
commitment to creating high quality theatre performances. With a
focus on training individuals who are not only talented performers,
but who can emerge into all areas of society as well rounded
individuals.
Under the vision of Young People's Theatre
Director Christopher Gorry, the workshop groups will work on
building theatre skills and interpersonal skills, by working with a
number of professional theatre practitioners. Then, throughout the
year the groups will work together on presenting productions which
will rehearse in and around their normal weekly sessions.
Talent is not a pre-requisite for admission to
the YPT but commitment and enthusiasm is a must. At times the
commitment required is very high from its members, which helps to
maintain a fun and professional environment for all involved.
