Application criteria
This year the summer school has
expanded to offer more dance training than ever before. Elevate
spans three weeks, with
the option of taking part in just one,
two or all three weeks.
Elevate is aimed specifically at young dancers aged 14 – 25
years old who are currently in, or aspiring to be in, professional
vocational training. Elevate offers a taste of professional
training and the chance for students to keep dancing during
their summer holidays. Elevate forms an essential part of The
Point’s commitment to nurture and support young talent.
Elevate: Train
2nd - 6th August
You will experience an invaluable week
of dance classes and workshops taught by some the country’s top
dancers and teachers. There will be sessions in a
variety of dance styles and
techniques, such as contemporary, ballet, jazz and hip hop.
£110 for one week

Elevate: Create
9th - 13th August
If you have ever dreamt of being a
choreographer but don’t know where to start then this is the week
for you! This week will focus on creating and choreographing
your own dance pieces in a relaxed and stimulating environment. You
will work with a
number of high profile contemporary
choreographers including Freddie Opoku-Addaie and members of Henri
Oguike Company.
£110 for one week

Elevate:
Integrate
16th - 21st
August
An opportunity to work with some of
the leading dance artists in the country with a focus on creating
intergrated performance. The week will also include workshops,
classes, artist’s talks and advice sessions
for participants who wish to pursue
dance as a career. You will work with a number of high profile
contemporary companies including Candoco and StopGAP.
£110 for one week
Full programme for
Elevate Intergrate
Each week will close with an informal
sharing for families and friends.
