Health And Wellbeing Day Timetable (1) (1)

About the Sessions:

Saturday 1st February

Feldenkrais with Hannah Wheeler
In this Introduction to Feldenkrais workshop we'll focus on releasing tension from our bodies and finding the optimal movement in our hips, spine and shoulders. We'll explore how our connection to the ground can provide whole body strength and stability, connecting to ourselves through a mindful series of gentle movements.

Hatha Yoga with Jo Welch
A rounded class working with the breath to explore classical yoga postures. Modifications are offered along the way with gentle options and a few challenges, allowing you to explore yoga at your own pace depending on what’s right for your body. Beginners welcome.

Moving, Being
A taster session for a twelve week course starting in April 2020 at The Point. This practice is designed to increase vitality and freedom in the body through gentle movement exploration and will introduce you to somatic, mindful ways of moving to develop confidence in your own body’s potential for expression and well-being.

Introduction to Meditation
This gently guided session will introduce you to basic meditation techniques that help cultivate a more spacious and balanced mind. The session is intended to give you the confidence and skills to meditate at home. Feeling relaxed, increased contentment and not feeling so controlled by your thoughts are just a few of the benefits of regular meditation.

Vinyasa Flow with Tori East
Vinyasa Flow Yoga combines the breath with physical flowing sequences and held postures. Building strength and flexibility, toning the body, releasing toxins and re-energising our bodies. Mentally, the synchronised breathing calms the mind, relieves stress and soothes the soul helping to create harmony.  This workshop will give a taste of these elements and leave you feeling energised yet relaxed.

Sunday 2nd February

Life Coaching workshop with Gemma Hunt
In this workshop you will look at the wheel of your life, if it feels like a smooth or bumpy ride, if there are areas that need some puncture repair and how you can do that. We will also look at the beliefs we have that can hinder us moving forward and identify areas you want to work on and how to start to develop a plan for making the changes you want.

You will also have the opportunity to ask Gemma any questions you may have about therapy, coaching, personal development or any other related topics.

Gemma is a therapist living and working in the Winchester area who offers traditional and alternative therapies helping people with a range of issues from confidence to phobias to trauma.

EFT (also known as Tapping) workshop with Gemma Hunt
EFT is a combination of ancient acupressure and modern psychology. Whilst simply stimulating acupressure points by tapping on them and focusing on an 'issue', we can ease both emotions and physical issues. The technique is very simple and all you need are your hands and an open mind.

In the workshop you will learn a little more about emotions and how to use EFT so it can become a self-help tool you will always have available to you.

Jin Shin Jyutsu workshop with Donna Dawson from Sensib Holistics
The Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu is a holistic, healing treatment, which uses gentle touch to balance your body, mind and spirit. Similar to acupuncture, it is based on the idea that our bodies are mapped by paths which carry "qi" or energy. When the energy flows freely, you are balanced and healthy. When the flow of energy is blocked, you experience pain, discomfort, or poor physical or emotional health; you are unbalanced.  Jin Shin Jyutsu helps unblock and keep your energy flowing by tapping into your energy paths via 26 "safety energy locks", points on your body similar to acu-points in acupuncture.

Donna will be offering a workshop teaching some simple self-help holds that can be used anywhere to harmonise your energetic body and calm the mind - it gives a feeling of being fully rested - you will feel your breathing becoming relaxed and deeper - dropping the shoulders and releasing the stresses of the day!

Tai Chi with Soon They
Tai Chi involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. It is a non-competitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercises and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion.
