Level 2 Creative Apprenticeship in Technical Theatre

The Point, Eastleigh and The Berry Theatre are offering a paid Level 2 Creative Apprenticeship in Technical Theatre which offers an in-depth, practical and solid foundation in technical theatre.

Job Role & Description
Reporting to the Technical Manager of both The Point and The Berry Theatre, the role of the Apprentice Technician is to complete the Level 2 Certificate in Technical Theatre Support: Sound, Light and Stage and the Level 2 Award in Principles of the Creative and Culture Sector at Exeter College while simultaneously working full-time as a trainee technician across 2 theatre venues.

You will learn how events are run across 2 theatres offering a difference in performances; this can include dance, music, multi-media, film and special events including in-house and external events. The role is part of a small operations team and is very much one of “hands on” involvement, learning on the job and putting that into practice in a professional environment. You will be required to attend Exeter College for one day per month as part of this course.

Drama Development Officer: Education
Full Time (37 hours per week)
Salary: £22,408 per annum

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced theatre professional to work as part of The Point’s Creative Learning team. This role will concentrate on the development of drama in Eastleigh Borough through programmes delivered at The Point and its sister venue The Berry Theatre.

This role requires a creative individual, capable of developing and delivering high quality projects which engage our community in drama. The role will have a particular focus upon engaging schools, colleges, teachers and pupils.

The Creative Learning Team deliver projects across the area and are based at The Point, Eastleigh, one of the liveliest performing arts venues in the region, with a full, professional programme of theatre, dance and film.

This role combines creative, developmental and administrative responsibilities and requires the ability to manage a complex workload as well as delivering a range of residences, projects and workshops. Although working as part of the team at The Point, much of this role’s time will be spent delivering projects at The Berry Theatre in Hedge End, Hampshire.

The Point and Dance Up are looking for a AGENT FOR DANCE EXCELLENCE

The Point and Dance Up have between them 40 years of experience of developing dance in Hampshire and are pleased to be partners in this exciting development for dance in the region through Hampshire County Council’s New Dimensions in Dance Programme.

The Agent for Dance Excellence (A4DE) will be a key driver in the dance ecology of the county looking at ways to deepen engagement in dance with the overarching aim of identifying and developing talent in dance. They will support the development of the next generation of dance sector workers, whether it be performers, makers, facilitators, manager or producers and will be the bridge between multiple organisations and partners such as schools, venues, agencies, sport and youth services.

The Agent for Dance Inclusion (A4DI) will play a key role in driving up participation and increasing access to dance by drawing on the skills, experience and resources of both organisations and by developing partnerships across the county. They will strengthen and empower communities across Hampshire by seeking to stimulate and initiate dance activities, coordinating and supporting delivery where appropriate.
