The play will also be filmed (NB as the film will not have a commercial release, there will be no extra fee for this). The play will be directed by The Berry Theatre’s Artistic Director, Owen Calvert-Lyons. We are interested in seeing actors of any ethnicity for these roles.

Characters:

Henry V
Age: 29
Prince of Wales, then King of England
Strong and authoritative. A soldier and a leader.

Lord Scrope of Masham
Age: 45
A loyal soldier, Scrope fought alongside Henry in Wales. He has grown up alongside the King but
remains on the peripheries of royal circles. He is a thinker. The audience experience the play
through Scrope, we must believe he is capable of both loyalty and treason.

Edmund Mortimer, Earl of March
Age: 24
An unlikely heir to the throne. Despite his royal blood, we never really believe that he could be King.
Light in build, does not have the same physical strength as the other characters.

Richard, Earl of Cambridge
Age: 40
A Yorkshire ruffian. There is an air of danger about him, he is angry and unpredictable.

Auditions will be held on 15th and 16th April 2015. Please send submissions to casting@eastleigh.gov.uk
