ORB Male Youth Dance Company
ORB Male Youth Dance Company is run in partnership with Luke Brown Dance and is committed to delivering high-quality contemporary dance training for dedicated and aspiring male dance artists aged 13-21 years.
Luke Brown Dance are inclusive of all men.
Based at The Point, Eastleigh, ORB welcomes dancers from across Hampshire and beyond to be a part of an inclusive and encouraging company led by Luke Brown, Artistic Director of Luke Brown Dance.
Training and Opportunities
ORB offers contemporary dance training with Luke and other invited industry professionals, working towards performance opportunities throughout the year.
Training focuses on enhancing dancers’ technical abilities, creative skills, contact work and an exploration of each individual’s choreographic voice through demanding weekly training sessions including contemporary techniques such as release, flying low/floor work, contact improvisation and partnering in duets and groups.
The safe and supportive company environment enables young men to reach new and exciting goals, acting as a springboard to a higher education within the arts. Previous Company members have been offered opportunities at venues including The Place, Northern Contemporary Dance School and London Studio Centre.
2021 - 2022 Applicant Information
Auditions to be part of ORB take place each term in September, January and April.
We encourage all male dance (and aspiring male dance) artists to apply. You do not need prior formal dance training.
Our dancers share a hunger and commitment to learn and we look for company members who demonstrate passion, talent and a generous, supportive approach to training within a diverse group.
Please note that auditions are free. ORB termly fees are £90.

ORB is run in partnership with Luke Brown Dance Company who create fearless dance-theatre, making connections with artists, audiences and participants through a playful and wholehearted approach to storytelling and self-discovery. The friendly and welcoming approach enables the company to encourage brave creative thinking and create meaningful relationships through dance performance and training.
