The Point Eastleigh has been busy working with local crafters and community organisations on Platinum Jubilee bunting for the Bandstand in Leigh Road Recreation Ground.
Some of the designs focus on the celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, while others depict fun references to recycling and the environment. Most of the material which has been used to make it is recycled and came from bedspreads and pillowcases donated by the people of Eastleigh.
The bunting will go display on the weekend of the Jubilee Bank Holiday and remain in situ for a little while thereafter.
Caz Creagh, Creative Learning and Participation Manager at The Point and The Berry Theatres, said: “We are delighted to have been working with Eastleigh community groups to create fantastic bunting in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to all residents who have joined in and look forward to hanging the completed bunting in time for the Community Showcase at Leigh Road Recreation Ground on Saturday 4 June.”
