The Point is delighted to announce that front of house staff member Lorraine Hendley, who has worked for the venue for sixteen years, has recently been recognised by Eastleigh Borough Council, winning the 2016 Customer Service Award.
Voted for by staff across the Council, the Customer Service Award was given with the utmost praise for Lorraine, who has become known as “the face of The Point”.
Lorraine has come to know many of The Point’s loyal audiences and fully engages with the wider programmes at the venue. The Council’s Chief Executive Nick Tustian presented Lorraine with the award at a Staff Awards Presentation and congratulated her on her incredible contribution to the Eastleigh cultural hub.
“Lorraine is a really special member of our team. She is the friendly face that greets all of our audiences and artists. People love coming to our venue because of staff like Lorraine, who go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome in our venue.” - Owen Calvert-Lyons, Artistic Director.
This award comes as The Point celebrates its 20th year; Lorraine has been with the venue through the vast majority of its incredible journey presenting world-class performance and engaging thousands of participants each year, developing Eastleigh as a creative community.
Accolade for Lorraine and her work came not just from the Council’s staff, but also acclaimed political comedian Mark Thomas, who sent a special message to thank Lorraine for being so welcoming every time he visits the venue! On accepting her award, Lorraine said:
"I would like to thank all The Point staff for their tremendous support on helping me to achieve this award. My colleagues are so friendly and helpful and they make coming into work a real pleasure."
