The Point’s Artistic Director Sacha Lee returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year as part of the Total Theatre Awards judging panel.
The Total Theatre Awards recognises excellence and artists pushing the boundaries of independent performance. The Point joins Oxford Playhouse, The Place, Jacksons Lane and several other UK arts venues to form part of the panel, deciding which of the 22 shortlisted productions from 11 countries will be awarded one of seven awards across five categories at this year’s festival.
“I am delighted to be part of The Total Theatre Awards this year – important awards that champion new work from independent artists and companies breaking new ground in the performing arts – we need these awards to keep driving forward into new territory.” – Sacha Lee
The awards have played a crucial role in recognising and championing work by independent artists and companies for two decades, something The Point is passionate about. This autumn the venue welcomes a handful of companies and comedians fresh from runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, to present new works to local audiences.
