The Point Training Scheme
CAT NEW

Providing young people aged 11-15 the exciting opportunity to develop their potential in dance.

Partnership Programme in Hampshire, supported by Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) at The Place.

The Point is delighted to provide this new training scheme for young people aged 11-15, offering high quality well-rounded training, to give young dancers a stable foundation of technique, understanding, creative response and to develop their potential in dance. The six month course of ballet and contemporary dance technique classes will offer successful applicants the chance to develop skills with nationally recognised dance artists and leaders.

This unique intensive training programme also sees participants develop a piece for performance in The Point’s Hothouse Dance Excellence platform and provide opportunities to watch professional performances at The Point and Rambert School of Dance in Twickenham.

Working with professional choreographer Carrie Whittaker of Lîla Dance, and a ballet tutor from Rambert Dance, the 3.5 hour Sunday sessions (twice a month) will develop young dancers onto the next step to further dance training.
