The Transition Project
Starting a new school
Starting a new school can feel overwhelming, and if you haven’t been for a while because of lockdown, you may be feeling anxious about starting Secondary School in September.
We have been working with both Primary and Secondary schools in the Borough of Eastleigh to help make that transition a little easier.
Help is here!
Year 7 students from Hamble School, Wyvern College, Crestwood Community School and The King’s School have all been writing fantastic letters to their Year 6 selves about taking that jump into a new school.
We gave those words of wisdom to Year 6 students at Shakespeare Junior School, The King’s School and Freegrounds Junior School who created some brilliant video performances in response.
So if you are feeling a little unsure what to expect, watch our videos for hints and tips from those who have already made the step, and feel confident as you start a new and exciting chapter from September.
Thank you to all the schools and students who took part – we think you are all amazing!
Don’t feel like you need to remember everything right away, secondary school does take some getting used to!
