We're big fans of Halloween fun so we're looking forward to some of the BOO-rilliant things coming up at half-term!
Nick Sharratt, who illustrates all of Jacqueline Wilson’s books as well as a huge number of titles for younger children including Pants, You Choose and Shark in the Park, will be here on Mon 24 Oct at 2pm for a Halloween Draw-Along live in our theatre. Bring your pencils and paper and join in (grown-ups too 😊)! £10/£8 concessions. Ages 4+.
Spooktacular Halloween Ball with StoryTribe! Fri 28 Oct 12.30pm-1.30pm (5-7 year-olds), 2.30pm-3.30pm (8-10 year-olds). Dress up in your best and join Grinda and Willow from the World of StoryTribe games and dancing to fire up your imagination and conjure your Halloween spirit. Parents are asked to remain with their children so will require a ticket.
Drop-in Spooky Crafts – FREE! Mon 24 – Tues 25 Oct. Crafty activities for kids of all ages, with our café bar open for Halloween treats. All children must be accompanied by an adult. FREE, no need to book.
Thriller: Dance in a Day - learn to dance in the style of the famous Michael Jackson Thriller video, just in time for Halloween, complete with costume and stage makeup. Ages 8-14. Sat 29 Oct, 10am-4pm.
Drop-in Pumpkin Carving, Sat 29 Oct 10.30am – 2pm. Tickets include a pumpkin, use of the tools and templates, a bag of trick or treat sweets and a discount on a hot Halloween drink. £7 per pumpkin.
Full-day Halloween Stage Makeup Masterclass – 12-17 yr-olds. Sat 29 Oct, 10am-4pm. Work with professional products to create realistic wounds, bruises and zombie-like effects. After practising techniques you will apply your skills on real life dancers from our Thriller Dance workshop. Please note this workshop involves latex-based products.
And at our sister venue The Berry Theatre, there's some Halloween hilarity with the Comedy Club 4 Kids Halloween special on Thurs 27 Oct at 2pm. Cracking entertainment for everyone over six years old and under 400 years old (no vampires). The best comedians from the UK and world circuit doing what they do best… without the rude bits!
